Description:
The fibers, 250μm,are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member. Tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core. An Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) is applied around the cable core, which is filled with the filling compound to protect it from water ingress. Then, the cable is completed with a PE sheath.
Applications:
The KT3004 GYTA53 is a double-sheathed fiber optic cable designed specifically for directly underground communication applications. It incorporates advanced structural and material technologies to ensure durability, moisture resistance, and high mechanical performance.
The cable's core fibers, sized at 250μm, are encased within loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic filled with water-resistant compounds. A central steel wire, which may be sheathed in polyethylene (PE) for high fiber count configurations, serves as the metallic strength member. Around this central core, the tubes and fillers are stranded to form a compact, circular assembly.
The cable core is wrapped with an Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) moisture barrier and filled with water-blocking materials for additional protection. It is then layered with a PE inner sheath, followed by a longitudinally applied Protective Steel Plate (PSP) and a robust PE outer sheath.
This cable adheres to YD/T 901-2001 and IEC 60794-1 standards.
The cable is suitable for long-haul or local-area communication networks, especially in underground installations requiring robust environmental resistance.
